JAGM

JAGM

The Lockheed Martin JAGM builds on an unmatched foundation of combat-proven precision air-to-ground missiles. We have successfully fielded missiles with all three of the JAGM seeker modes: precision-strike semi-active laser (SAL) on HELLFIRE, passive fire-and-forget imaging infrared (I2R) on Javelin, and all-weather fire-and-forget millimeter wave (MMW) on LONGBOW. To this firm foundation, we added the latest technology to give Warfighters expanded operational flexibility in addition to increased combat effectiveness and survivability with a single, low-cost next-generation advanced missile.

Fire-and-forget engagement modes, coupled with increased standoff employment ranges, significantly increase JAGM user survivability against threat defenses. The capability to actively or passively engage stationary and moving targets, day and night, despite adverse weather, battlefield obscurants and countermeasures greatly increases the employability of JAGM from multiple platforms against multiple targets. Point-designation engagement modes allow JAGM users to apply deadly force accurately across wide target sets with a single missile, thus avoiding fratricide and collateral damage. JAGM’s target sets include armor, air defense units, patrol craft, artillery, transporter erector/launchers, radar sites, C2 nodes, bunkers and other structures in urban and complex terrain.

Lockheed Martin’s common JAGM solution provides an affordable, low-risk system that meets all Army, Navy and Marine Corps rotary-wing, fixed-wing and unmanned aerial system (UAS) requirements—with high modularity for rapid response to future requirements. JAGM offers mission-critical performance advantages for multiple military services on numerous platforms, sustained by an established logistics infrastructure.

JAGM

There’s been some talk lately about the merits of the cooled versus uncooled tri-mode seekers for the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) competition. But when pilot lives are on the line, there’s no competition. Thanks to the superior passive target discrimination and range offered by Lockheed Martin’s JAGM cooled seeker, pilots can engage most adversaries at safe standoff range. Our cooled seeker gets the job done — while protecting aircraft and crew. That’s how we define mission success at Lockheed Martin.

JAGM

Lockheed Martin’s Joint Air to Ground Missile (JAGM) scored a direct hit in a live firing at White Sands Missile Range, NM, August 2. The tactically configured JAGM was fired from a static launch rail. The semi-active laser sensor guided the missile to a direct hit against a stationary target at a distance of 16 kilometers – the required maximum range from rotary-wing platforms. In addition to the semi-active laser, the JAGM seeker includes imaging infrared and millimeter wave radar sensors. While this test required a SAL-only engagement, all three sensor modes of our mature tri-mode seeker operated in unison to collect data.

JAGM

Lockheed Martin’s JAGM is mature, capable and ready for the engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) phase. Its missile production track record and active missile assembly lines uniquely position it to move seamlessly into EMD and low-rate initial production, with the same commitment and people that make HELLFIRE II the most trusted precision-guided weapon on today’s battlefield.

JAGM

Built on 10+ years of development and testing and decades of platform integration experience, Lockheed Martin’s JAGM is proven on fixed-wing. Our JAGM system is ready: ready for EMD fixed-wing integration, and ready to support fixed-wing missions everywhere the Super Hornet and next-gen fighters fly.
